Summer days

So summer is officially here as the sweat drips down my back and I leave a thin layer of skin on everything I touch.

Yesterday was the hottest day in Lily's life and she faired quite well, we had a little bit of a sticky hug goodnight, but her room is one of the cooler ones in the house.
The three of us had a nice time in the backyard watching the clothes dry on the line, chasing bubbles and picking maple keys out of Lily's mouth. They count as a food group right?
After yesterday's high of 40 with the humidex we made a trip early this morning to buy an inflatable kiddy pool, we've filled it up and are awaiting the temperature to go from heart attack cold to "baby warm".

Lindsay, Lily and I are headed to the cottage on Monday via Via for a much needed rest with Grandma. Between the 3 of us I'm sure we can play musical baby and get in some nice porch naps and a couple of card games. Here's hoping that the close to 5 hour train ride is uneventful and Lily quickly adapts to the new surroundings and sleeps at night.

Oh, did I mention that 2 more teeth have come through, man those upper front two teeth look too big to fit in such a tiny mouth. No wonder she has been a bit cranky! The worst sound in the world is listening to her grinding all four teeth together, although it seems to be happening less, perhaps the novelty is wearing off.

Here are a few pics from our new backyard... and I'll throw in a couple of our absolutely amazing front garden (that we can take no credit for)....
